Interior - Public

This interior refurbishment project was developed for the Public University in Mali and funded by the PNUD, with the aim of transforming an existing university interior into a shared social hub rather than a conventional academic space. Conceived as a collective lobby, the project creates an environment where students can meet, interact, and exchange ideas outside the formal setting of classrooms. The design introduces a contemporary architectural language while remaining deeply rooted in local culture, drawing inspiration from traditional Malian and West African patterns, textures, and earthy tonalities. Spatial landmarks and seating clusters structure the interior without imposing rigid boundaries, encouraging informal gathering and appropriation by users. By merging modern design principles with regional identity, the project redefines the university interior as an inclusive and vibrant communal space that supports dialogue, creativity, and student life.
