A House on a Cliff

Faraya . Lebanon · 2014

Residential

Set within the mountainous landscape of Faraya, Lebanon, the House on a Cliff is conceived as a contemporary retreat that engages directly with its dramatic natural surroundings. The project is defined by bold horizontal planes and cantilevered volumes that extend toward the panoramic mountain views, creating a strong dialogue between architecture and terrain. A restrained material palette and clean geometries emphasize horizontality, while deep overhangs and terraces provide protection from the alpine climate and frame the landscape. Positioned at the highest level, the rooftop pool becomes the focal element of the house, transforming the roof into a lived outdoor space and a privileged viewpoint over the valley. Through its careful integration with the topography and its deliberate openness to light and views, the House on a Cliff offers an elegant interpretation of mountain living that combines contemporary design, privacy, and immersion in nature.
